Pedi Ortho?

Currently, I am doing a month of Orthopedic Trauma here at University Hospital. As you can imagine at a county hospital, I see the salt of the earth. Today, our day was brightened by another little girl. This little girl is only 17 months old and came to our ER with a proximal ulnar fracture. I did my best making funny faces and playing with her while we made her cast. Not a tear was shed. Sad thing was there was a history of abuse by mom so she was accompanied by her guardian (she is now in CPS) who happened to be originally from Germany. Very interesting conversation. You can see the cast and sling we threw on her....and the balloon I made from our ER gloves to help entertain her. Cutest thing in the world - reminded my a lot of my own little Anna.

Hey sorry to delete the image. I'm sure you would want to be careful about your HIPPA agreements and CPS would want one of their clients to be protected as well. I'm sure she reminded you of your daughter and made you homesick. Glad you could be so kind to someone else's daughter today. Hopefully, this is a start to a good story for this girl.

Actually, HIPPA prevents any identifying info namely FULL name and/or medical record number. The truth is she went by Anna, but wasn't her "real" first name, and since you don't know here last name or MRN, it is probably ok. but either way really.
