I did it...oh, and the verdict is???

Well folks, how are all of you? This is really a quick note that I think Kate, and maybe Nathan will appreciate.

So, if you've not lived or been in Oregon during the winter, it's cold and wet. Not as cold as Utah obviously, but the rain and lack of sunlight add their own strong spin on winter. Bottom-line, it's hard to go outside and do much, especially exercise. Most of you don't know that I've taken up running here in Oregon (it's the Oregon thing with Nike close and such). I'm still not hardcore like Michael, but I do run, and more importantly, I even enjoy it most of the time. So, back to the winter discussion...I HATE RUNNING IN THE WINTER. It's cold, my lungs hurt, it's dark almost always here in the mornings during winter, and worst of all, IT'S WET!

Well, I have some clothes I bought for winter days here that I've not really used. A Nike running skull cap, a soft shell from Columbia, some Goretex Adidas to keep my feet dry, and my iPod. I've used them all separately, but I not at once. But, I DID IT, twice now. I put on all this stuff, in the gray and drizzle, went for a run all steaming and everything. It actually felt good. I'm still not in love with Winter running (usually do it at the gym at work), but it's a nice break on a Saturday afternoon.

Also...

IT'S A GIRL!!!

If some of you don't know, Jubie is pregnant with our 3rd. And we found out Thursday that it's a girl. I'm very excited and humbled really. I feel a different kind of responsibility and concern for a little girl.

So, I'm happy. Jubie's happy. Kai's been begging for a "baby sister," so he's happy. Makeo is just happy.

I suppose most of you will see our baby girl at the Family Reunion. Till then.

Congrats James! That is wonderful news! There is just something special about having a little girl...not sure what it is. Initially I wanted a boy (of course) but I love having my little Anna. You will love her to death, and Jubie will have to fight you not to spoil her too much.

Also congrats on the running. I am a social runner - so if I don't have a running partner with me, it is really hard for me to get out (oh and I TOTALLY understand the winter running thing - which is why Texas is sooooooo nice). But now that I don't have a partner to go out with me often, I got an Ipod (shuffle) and it was the single best purchase I've made in the last 6 months. Take care of yourself when you run and be sure to stretch and stuff. I know you have a bad back so hopefully the running will help you in that department.

Congrats again!

Congrats!!! Yeah. Ohhh the clothes, ohh the weakness when she bats her eyes for a matching bag with her current outfit. "Daddy, can you take me shopping?" Guess who Jam prefers? Oh and the running is cool too. Can't wait to see you. (Nice picture, don't think I needed help on that!)

Let me just rub in the fact that I just went 4.5 miles in 74 degree weather in the dead of winter. Gotta love Texas!!

Congrats on the girl! I bet that you and Jubie are so excited. Funny that just this Saturday I was telling Nigel how much I despise running in the cold. I went anyway, but I hate coming in with my nose running like I'm Dad.

Ha ha! I wonder how many of us have ever had Daddy-drip nose--I have!

Congratulations, James. So glad you got your girl; I know you really wanted a princess in your family. We'll be excited to meet her at the reunion.
