Hi from San Diego

Folks...life is moving forward here in San Diego. I'm starting to get real busy. We've had several legal projects dumped on the team, and I'm being loaded up in a real way. I spend way more of my day reading contracts then I ever expected. I suppose I should have done the JD/MBA sometimes. I did consider it, but simply didn't. Anyway, all in all we're enjoying it. Hoping to transition to a permanent location/home soon. But no idea. Home was shown twice this week, and both buyers seem interested. However, they both have issues. One can't buy till the new year, and one needs to sell their home first. So, I'm not expecting much. We received 30 day notice today to vacate our temp housing. I'm hoping to get an extension. Living on lots of hope and some faith. My faith is probably weaker, or maybe better put, tired. It seems sooo long since life has been settled, so just feeling tired.

Kai started school here. The teachers seem nice, but the school is very over crowded. We live in an area where they've built several large apartment complexes recently, and with all the housing mess, the number of young families has spiked. So we're told they school was build for 200, but had 800 students. They don't bus, so taking Kai to school is a real chore. No parking, hundreds of people and tons of cars trying to get into the roundabout to drop kids off. I have to park off site, and walk Kai in. In takes about 30 minutes each AM on the way to work. Our days now start at 6AM. Suddenly, I'm transferred back to Lincoln with Mom up at the crack of dawn waking kids, getting breakfast, and pushing them out the door. Something I thought I'd never do. Boy how life changes. Jubie is being a trooper with some night feedings still, and up to help out with breakfast and dressing the boys. Anyway, it's a big, sudden change we're still dealing with. When we move, we'll definitely be looking for a school system that buses or has a more reasonable location to ferry kids in and out. It takes Jubie about one hour door to door to pick up Kai. Same problem with parking, bodies, pushy cars, and she's got two kids in tow. So, it's not fun.

Kai is in the bottom corner on his first day meeting his two teachers. They seem very diligent, and I'm sure they are good teachers. We'll see how long we're here.

I've created a blog update on my site with some great pictures from the reunion. There are over 100 photos loaded, and there is something for everybody. Just click on "Mak-Daddy" on the left. When you're viewing the slide show, click on the "Picassa show" and it should port you over to the full size pictures. You can download from there if you want any copies. There are really some nice ones...

Finally, we had a company festival recently where they rented a sports field at SDSU, and filled it with food stands, carnival like booths, inflatable toys/slides for kids, and kicked it off with a firework show.

It was really quite fun, and surprisingly big. Qualcomm really does seem to want to take care of their employees. I feel very blessed to be here.

Hope all are well. Cheers.

My favorite part of your video is hearing Jubie in the background. :) Hopefully your house sells soon!
